DONOR APPRECIATION PARTY! We are throwing a party to thank the people who donated to Mind the Gap for our film trip to China via the Kickstarter Campaign. The event is also an opportunity for other supporters to come out and visit with other transit lovers and get a glimpse of our new trailer from Beijing. DATE / TIME: May 5, 2012, 7 - 9 pm LOCATION: Pewter by Design, 1559 Custer Ave, San Francisco, easy access via the KT Muni, exit Evans and walk two blocks North to Custer, turn left on Custer and walk 1 1/2 blocks. Easy parking.

ENTERTAINMENT: Music, Art, Beijing Trailer!

The documentary director, Laura J. Lukitsch, spent 10 days in Beijing, filming eight commuters using seven forms of transportion including biking, walking, driving, taxi, subway, bus and high speed rail. The Beijing commutes will be part of the larger film, showing commuter experiences in four cities - Beijing, San Francisco, London and Lima. Through these experiences the film compares and contrasts the work these cities are doing to deal with the challenges of growing congestion, increases in energy costs, and concerns over climate change.
